Bio
Robert “Bob” Merold is a Venture Partner at Suncoast Ventures, where he brings three decades of healthcare data and informatics leadership to diligence across diagnostics, biopharma, and digital health.
He is Managing Partner of EXECullence, the consulting practice he runs today. Previously he was Global SVP, Product at IMS Health, and held leadership roles at ASCO's CancerLinQ, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Procter & Gamble, and Incyte Genomics.
He holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania.
Backstory
After 25 years in Fortune 100 company executive suites and then running two start-ups, I discovered my USP in a consulting capacity: described by a partner at one of the most successful PE firms in Silicon Valley, a long-time client, as “seeing around corners”. By that he meant understanding markets and disparate trends to anticipate where future value would emerge and then figuring out how to get there from here.
I have worked in health care data, related technologies and their applications for over three decades and trail blazed many RWE assets.
For the past 15 years I’ve applied that aptitude against a wide range of opportunities, from developing new lines of business for established companies to helping early-stage companies with strategy, strategic partnerships and accelerating revenue growth.
What I'm looking for
I’m looking to invest in and support entrepreneurs who are leveraging technology and data to drive better patient outcomes and improve system efficiency.
Equally important is finding solutions that differentiate from the zillion “nice to do” ideas floating around and are sufficiently compelling to drive a market.
