Genevieve LeMarchal
The healthcare problems of OUR generation.

Bio

Genevieve LeMarchal is the founder and General Partner of Suncoast Ventures. With nearly a decade of experience as an entrepreneur prior to entering venture capital, she brings a founder-first perspective and deep operational insight to every investment she makes. Suncoast Ventures is backed primarily by healthcare industry executives, reflecting its strong alignment with and access to the sector.

In 2021, Genevieve launched and led a healthcare program at a Los Angeles–based accelerator, helping drive it to become one of the most active early-stage investors in the United States, as recognized by Crunchbase. She was awarded the 2022 Biocom Life Science Catalyst Award and has been featured in Forbes for her work in venture capital and healthcare innovation. As of Q3 2026 Genevieve has invested in or led over 55 deals in early stage companies.

Previously, she served as a Partner at a science-focused advisory firm and fund in formation, was a General Partner at a small Oregon-based VC fund, and is a co-founder of the XXcelerate Fund. She is also the host of the AdVentureous Podcast, where she explores the real stories behind building companies and navigating venture capital.

A Pacific Northwest native, Genevieve is now based in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she continues to invest in and support the next generation of category-defining companies.

Backstory

After nearly a decade as an entrepreneur, I hit a hard failure that forced me to step back and reassess everything. That period became the turning point. As I worked through the recovery, I developed a real appreciation for how complex, fragmented, and misunderstood innovation — and healthcare in particular — actually is.

What started as a simple desire to help founders avoid the mistakes I'd made turned into something more focused. I kept seeing that the most urgent, costly, pervasive problems were hiding in plain sight — they weren't really tech problems at all, and traditional investors kept misreading them.

That combination — hard-earned founder empathy plus conviction about overlooked healthcare opportunities — became the foundation for Suncoast. I invest in what I call the healthcare problems of our generation.

What I'm looking for

Exceptional builders tackling large, systemic healthcare gaps with practical, scalable solutions — across health tech, AI/ML, digital health, and medtech, at the earliest stages.

I back founders, not decks. I've been in the seat; I screen for the ones solving a problem the rest of the market has misunderstood or written off.
